Solo Exhibition // Edwards Visiting Professor of the Arts

In January of 2023 Ariel received the Edwards Visiting Professor of the Arts Award from Marshall University as part of the College of Arts & Media’s 2023 Birke Fine Arts Symposium with the theme of “Making the Unseen Visible.” Her solo exhibition, How to Make Money (While Destroying Photographs), was on display at the Birke Art Gallery in Huntington, West Virginia from January 23 - February 17th, 2023.

On par with the inspiration and conceptual framework for the body of work, the invitation and exhibition included the requirement that warnings about the legal ramifications for the counterfeit be shown throughout the gallery and on every piece of press advertising the exhibition, talk, and campus visit.
